
On the 30th April the Lowestoft kazoku kai held a karate competition in aid of Ryan Prewer at the Harris Middle School Lowestoft.
The aim of the competition was to raise as much money to help send Ryan on a much deserved holiday, Ryan has just finished his treatment for non-Hodgkin?s Lymphoma and is now in remission .. The competition was a great success with over 40 competitors taking part within the karate clubs.
The first category was under nines kata the result are as follows: 3rd place - Kye Pearson, 2nd place - Jack Bergin, 1st place - Jade Reeve. Over nines category 3rd place - Amy Russell and Connor Furlow, 2nd place ? Hannah Ship, 1st place - William Barnwell. The next category was kata kumite under Green belt 3rd place - James Pettengell and Jack Bergin, 2nd place - Thomas Olley and Daniel Wright, 1st place - Thomas Russell and Amy Russell. Over Green belt 3rd place - Jamila Cheytan and Amina Cheytan, 2nd place -William Barnwell and Conner Furlow, 1st place - Bradley Wigg and James Baker next was team kata in 3rd place - Pakefield Kazoku (Kye Shanon and Chloe) 2nd place -Lowestoft Kazoku (Chloe, Hannah and Jade) 1st place - Oulton kazoku (William, James and Bradley ). Special medal winners on the day were - Hossan Cheytan, Callum Scriven, Dominique Day and Sohpie Crisp. Well done to you all.
I would like to thank all the people who supported the event. Especially the many sponsors who donated prizes to the raffle.
